Greetings!

NOTE! Mailchimp has decided to restrict their free account and I’m moving to SquareSpace to send the Museletter starting with the next one. Now it is costing me to send it out, but you guys are well worth it.

Raise your hand if you never thought you’d see such a futuristic year as 2025. Okay, just me huh? Well, those of us who are as old as me, we both think 2025 should be a futuristic world where we have no health problems, our currency is knowledge, our differences are celebrated, and borders on the map are more ornamental than a form of separation. Science and space exploration is advanced, and we’ve found ways to live with our blue marble instead of exploiting her. We don’t question others, we ask them questions. And no one is hungry.

Two hundred years ago, people just strived to get their covered wagons to the West Coast and avoid death in the process. If one made it past 40 years, they were considered rare and lucky.

I’ll never see humans reach the pinnacle of their abilities to make life better and magical here. That’s a shame because my imagination has a very clear picture of where I thought I’d be in 2025. This ain’t it.

But I’m not a Debbie Downer. I’m actually very happy to have made it this far, and with so many friends like you all, it is a nice life—maybe not very magical, but comfortable.

A couple of days ago, I reached out to some past ladies who have modeled with me before, and each one has a date on the calendar for our next shoot. I’d say 2025 is going to be busy with plenty of laughs and art being created. And Elley and Griffin have shoots coming up, just no exact dates yet.

We’ve been up here at Bonita for the last two weeks, and tomorrow, we head home. It has been quiet and actually warmer than we’d like. There is nothing as quiet as a snow-filled day. Linda tracks the weather in Chandler and here at Bonita, and this time of year, they track almost perfectly. It’s not cold, but with the lack of rain, it does look like winter out there.

For a few months now, our gas furnace hasn’t been working. I took the covers off and looked at the mass of wires, and it looked overwhelming. I downloaded the manual and understood it a bit more. Then, off to YouTube, I spent a few hours learning that they are all pretty much identical in construction and how they work.

I learned a long time ago that nothing is as complicated as it may first appear. I think there is an advantage to knowing things are simpler than first thought, and I don’t think I know everything, but with a little research...

Anyhow, the problem turned out to be reasonably simple. Interestingly, not a single YouTube video I found covered the issue. Some short rubber hoses have aged and cracked, preventing the air pressure switch from working and telling the system that the vent fan was running. The rest of the steps didn’t happen of course. If I sucked on the end of that little hose during the normal cycle, every stage happened on schedule for the next 90 seconds, and the furnace worked.

Now, you’d think that plenty of parts would be available in a large community like Payson. Nope!! None of any kind. The service industry has made sure I would have had to pay $1k plus to have someone come fix my furnace. Thankfully, there are some parts suppliers out there ready to sell anything one might need over the internet. So, parts are on the way AND someone you know will be making a YouTube video covering cracked hoses in furnaces.

Have a wonderful week. Stay warm, find happiness, and certainly stay healthy. Make masks and hand washing a thing again. Love y’all!!
