Greetings!
First, thank you all for subscribing and supporting my artistic efforts. As much as I enjoy making prints for people and sharing art on so-so media, this Museletter is really my favorite form of sharing my art.
Second, well, that’s probably going to be a nap later. I’ll handle that for you.
I’ve had no shoots since the last issue. Of course, there is still some new art from the previous shoots in this issue’s edits.
I have a shoot scheduled with Keriann on Sunday and that is always fun and creative. And a couple of other ladies are in communication with me about shooting soon, so we shall see.
Meanwhile, I’ve found a certain fascination with just sitting here and watching my screen saver flip through 14 years’ worth of edited images every five seconds. I’m biased, but I love seeing so much beauty pop up that shows how much enjoyment I’ve gotten out of my retirement. So many friends have come, some have stayed, and some have moved on. But heck, I have pictures! It’s great for this old man’s brain, such as it is, to try to remember the model’s name as they flash by. Some days, I get most of them. Other days, well, not so much. But these flashcards are nice to see, even if my brain is misty.
I have two geek projects going on. I have a new 3D printer coming in in a few days, and it is a game changer. I’ve had five of them since the beginning of 3D printing, and it was a real chore getting and keeping them running. They were the dot matrix printers of the budding 3D world. My new one is a Bambu P1S and, like Apple, it just works. So, I may have some new props in future shoots, but I’ll certainly be having fun creating some three-dimensional art.
Another project has been confounding me for years. I needed to build a network router on the 44 network for my remote radio work. I know that sounds complicated, but is it? Over the years, I have learned that complex things tend to make me doubt my abilities. So I went for it! And, in the last few days, I have made what I consider breakthroughs regularly on this project. I expect to have it running by the end of the week.
For me, tackling this project is about getting a router on the 44 network, but far more importantly, I am working through the things I don’t know or understand, learning them, and powering through them.
Remember that the next time you see something complicated and think you aren’t bright enough to figure it out. I’m going to guess that you most certainly are. The more I learn, the more I find the world is wonderfully simple. Jam a few simple things together, and you get the appearance of complexity. I expect brain surgery isn’t all that complicated, especially on certain people’s brains. You know who they are. But, don’t try this at home kids!
