Greetings!
Happy April to you! The weather is still lovely in Arizona, and I’m sure that will change sooner rather than later. We’ll head for the hills in another three weeks or so. I’m ready for the thinner but cooler air and seldom hearing a car engine.
Once again, I found an old shoot and made some new edits. This time in Tucson ten years ago with Alanna, Tayler, and Lance. Primarily for book cover material. The images I left behind so many years ago have finally come to life with the skills I’ve acquired since taking those pictures. Some of them blew me away, but I think I am at least a little biased.
I also revisited a shoot at a home right out of the 1960s where Luis, our hair stylist for the shoot, lives. When someone says ‘stuck in the 60s,’ this house is what they mean. It is such a beautiful home with so many options for shooting. This shoot was with the ever-beautiful Marcela. I hope you like what came from the newer edits.
I’m not even sure I’ll have room to publish all of the new ones in this issue. Fear not; if not, they will make the next.
Next week, I have a good friend from Canada visiting for a week. We have plenty of travel, hiking, and shooting. He’s a photographer, so I’m hoping to get at least a couple of shoots together for us. These days, someone coming into the States is a bit like walking into a burning building. We welcome him with open arms and a nice place to stay for his visit. Fun week ahead!
As some of you may recall, I’ve delved into the world of Dungeons and Dragons and found I love it. I expect I’m too old to embrace it as I would have as a young man, but I plan to enjoy playing in that world with some wonderful friends with the time I have left.
This Saturday, I’m going to join some friends, and likely make some new ones, at a party celebrating the 30th year of Laughing Moon by author and enchanted dungeon master Todd. I'd certainly recommend visiting the website and enjoying learning about the world he has created for more than half of his life. Congratulations, Todd!! Thank you for inviting me to join your world.
Meanwhile, I have a few shoots here and there to keep me busy as well as a couple of technical projects that I would have considered way over my head not long ago. Yet, here I am, figuring this shit out. Kristy is standing next to one of those projects in the gallery.
So, enjoy your life—your way! Pay no attention to how anyone else thinks you should live it based on their opinions and prejudices. Their way is to validate their life choices and mistakes. WTF! You do you; let them stew!
