Greetings!

Nikole Michael is featured in this issue. She’s unique in so many ways, and it makes me happy to call her a friend. She’s a very focused lady who has carved out her own fortune after being in a restrictive and very conservative life. I admire anyone who is in touch with their feelings and has the strength to make the life they want not only happen but flourish. You can imagine how proud I am to have helped her launch her new life.

Funny story. We shot in an AirB&B in Scottsdale, and it was winter and a weekend. It was late, and it was time to eat after the shoot. Nikole loved how warm the white terrycloth robe was. She wore a tiny black dress and donned the robe to stay warm, and we headed into town to find a place to dine. So, here is this old man walking down the street with this beautiful young woman in Christian Louboutin's red-bottom heels.

The robe completely covered the dress. After humorously catching the looks during our walk, we finally found a little hole-in-the-wall cafe and sat down. Our waiter, a young college-age man, came to our table, looked at us, and just said, “I have to ask.” I said, “She’s wearing a dress under the robe,” and he laughed and took our order. The meal was terrific, as was the company. The looks continued, and we loved it.

So, this issue is all about some of my favorite images we’ve created over the years. The video is from our latest shoot, but it is different in that the stills that pop up are not from that shoot. I felt you might enjoy hearing our banter and just enjoying some of the process.

I’ve been more fortunate than I deserve. Besides a wife who understands my passions and encourages me to pursue them, I have a supportive circle of friends. This is not to say there aren’t questioning looks and a bit of head-scratching by many, okay, most of them. I pick my friends well, and we look out for each other. Anything that doesn’t leave a scar from stitches or gives us a limp, we are all okay with it.
