Greetings!

What a busy week. Whew. Between shooting at a horse ranch and Fan Fusion, this guy was beat. Here it is, days later, and I just woke up from yet another nap. Okay, it might be the altitude, exceedingly fresh air, and cool breezes up here at Bonita Creek.

Fan Fest was fun. I got to hang out with my grandson, who graduated high school. We walked the floor a couple of times with Elley. She was costumed as Furioso and killed it, of course. I went as George Lucas. I swear, I was the only guy there with a head full of grey hair, so there you go. Hell, I’m still in costume.

I got a chance to see Aurora after years. She used to even vacation with us to California each year. We did that for FIVE years, so you could say we were close. She’s grown so much over the years. There is so much talent and such a kind heart in that one. She’s gone through some life changes, and I’m glad for her. Just hearing her laugh again warmed my heart.

And I hung out at the Laughing Moon booth much of the time. It was our center of operation with Todd and his two sons. He’s an author and has some wonderful fantasy gaming books. I picked up one from him that will take me through the ins and outs of D&D-type gaming. Laughing Moon style of course. And Griffin was there in an eye-catching costume, as you could imagine. She had very tall wings on and a body that stopped traffic. It was funny, though. Even though I was looking for their booth, the crowds distracted me as I walked until I felt something on my shoulder. Griffin has a long staff with a massive claw on the end. And it was grabbing me and pulling me back to their booth. It was pretty hilarious. How I missed her will always be a mystery.

A photographer that Elley and I know, Paul, was looking for us and never did find us—undoubtedly, we crossed paths. He later sent me one of the pictures he had taken of someone in costume. Find waldo.

Elley and I also got a chance to shoot some in the studio and around the house in Chandler. It's always fun! Images of my adventures make up most of the gallery this week.

Take some time to sit and enjoy art. It’s good for your soul.

I support an organization called Model Society. So many wonderful artists to inspire me. Check out their magazine!
