Greetings!
June is almost over. This year is moving along as if it were greased. We are back at Bonita Creek for the rest of the summer. We only venture away for hikes up the creek in the mornings or trips in our little 20-foot travel trailer. At least the evenings are a total joy where we can sleep with doors and windows open.
I had a two-day shoot with Elley a few days ago. We had some lovely meals and chatted about life often. Yeah, my friends sometimes have to hear advice from me because, well, old guy here who thinks he’s wise to some degree. It would be sad to make it into your 70s and not have at least a morsel of wisdom.
We shot many looks and outfits. She also needed a whole new set of headshots because she changed her hair color. These are the trials of being an actress. You can’t add tattoos or change hair color often without needing new headshots.
The most breathtaking art we created was as simple as Elley on the white floor and nude. We’ve done that countless times before, so you’d think we would have done it all. But she always pulls off a handful of outstanding poses I don’t remember seeing before. There are a couple in the gallery in this issue.
Last Wednesday, while you might have been enjoying the Museletter, I was getting a colonoscopy. I’m going out on a limb here and suggesting you had more fun than I did. Actually, I took two deep breaths in the little mask, and I woke up with Linda talking to me. So, that part was easy. The prep the night before? Trailer for hell.
If you are over 45 and haven’t done the mail-in test or had the joy of the magical mystery tour, do it. Your health is everything. Don’t be one of the statistics in the ‘death from…’ column. And hey, I love my subscribers.
As we slide into our summer in the forest, I’m welcomed with seemingly endless days of puttering around outside on projects until it gets warm, editing some new art during the heat of the day, and getting on the radio and talking with other hams in the evenings. I fall asleep in the deck swing at midnight and head to bed at 2 a.m. because it is a bit too cool on the deck.
Yeah. Life sucks. For some people.
I expect to have more than a couple of shoots while we are here. It is a good excuse for some friends and muses to enjoy cool fresh air.
Take some time to sit and enjoy art. It’s good for your soul.
I support an organization called Model Society. So many wonderful artists to inspire me. Check out their magazine!
