Greetings!
We are crashing headlong into the holidays!! Have you heard the phrase, “Time flys when you are having fun!”? Well, I still haven't figured out if I’m having fun, and it also applies to being old. Days are flying by so fast that I expect sonic booms to start soon. I am having fun and even doing a slew of shoots lately that have rocked. I am enjoying my remaining time so far. Thank you all for being a part of it.
My move to Blue Sky has been successful. I love that I have almost 750 followers and the same number of likes come from that than I got from FaceBook with 5k followers. The difference is, if you follow someone, you see what they post. No noticable algorythems figuring our who I should see that might keep me scrolling longer for ads. And so far, no ads. It’s still a young but has over 25 million users signed up already.
Social media sites have life cycles. I didn;t really give it much thought. Check out this article a friend turned me onto and it will open your eyes to a better understanding of how that world works.
I still post some to IG and Threads for the fun of it and don’t really care if I get kicked off of those eventually. And my business FaceBook account is no longer. I thought their mass purging was a glitch until I read that almost all photographers lost some files. And that it is still going on a week later. They took down three of my images yesterday and now they aren’t even showing them to me so I can see how silly their bot was in pulling it. They claim the image might offend me? Hey, idiot, I posted it!!
I find it interesting that, in past years if they found some stray image that broke their rules, I’d get some serious hand slapping. Like not being able to post for an day, a week, or if I’d been bad a few times in a row, maybe even a month. Now they slap you with a ban on signing up for or posting to groups. That’s it! They are bleeding users and it shows.
I’ve had some shoots to test out my new lights and controls. I caught on pretty quick and they works perfectly. I have two more to work with that will give me a lot of options. All are battery operated so I moved things around in the studio so I can easily put chargers on them all after a shoot. I could easily shoot for 8 or 9 hours with single charges. More than three hours has me dragging anymore.
I had lots of shoots the last week, so plenty of editing to do. Nice to have the bucket full of new art to work with. The newest version of Photoshop has some AI built in to let me make backdrops without moving out of the application. Two strange things with AI, or at least this one. I asked it to give me a glowing neon sign that said “Tattoo” and no matter how hard I tried, I couldnt get it to spell it correctly. You’ll see the image in today’s gallery. The final image I chose said Tatto so I put it strategically behind the model’s head so te last O is ‘hidden’. It also wouldn’t allow me to do it from that image directly because it has nipples showing. Really?!?! I can see not giving me a word i asked for to keep it useless in creating logos. But not allowing a nude to an artist? That’s just up and up stupid.
Happy holidays!!
